- Hooked - Emily Mcintire
This is the first book of the "A Never After Novel" series. It is a story about James aka Hook who seeks revenge against Peter Michaels. He sees it fit to use his daughter, Wendy as a pawn in his game. Suddenly, after spending a tremendous amount of time with her, he realizes that she means more to him then he thought she would, more than anyone ever has. Wendy loves the thrill she gets when she is with James. As much as she knows he is a dangerous man, she can not seem to shake her desire for him. She finds herself wondering if she is falling in love with James or the monster known as Hook. The story flew by so fast, Emily Mcintire sure made sure to keep her readers "hooked". I could simply not put this book down, I am pretty certain that I read it in less than a day. This book was also the book that got me back into a good reading habit. One of my favorite parts were when James became aware that causing and seeing Wendy in pain did not excite him anymore, but only made him feel like he wants to protect and comfort her instead. I felt like I needed more, more on what their life would have looked like after everything happened. The book did have a good ending to it though. I do recommend this series, it was so much fun reading all of them. The story flow and characters were so much fun. I would give it 4 Stars. Book Genre : Dark contemporary romance, Romance Novel, Fiction, Erotic Literature
- Fourth Wing - Rebecca Yarros
Violet Sorrengail the daughter of the Commanding General of Basgiath trained her whole live to become a Scribe but when she became of age her mother forces her to go to War Collage to become a Rider. She has a hard, stressful first couple of months training harder than everyone else to become an elite Dragon Rider because in the end you either fly...or die. My favorite character was Xaden Riorson, he is attractive, hard working and very secretive. Every single moment with him gives you a thrill. I disliked Dain Aetos, he values rules more than the ones he cares most for. All the characters felt like I've known them my whole life. There was a moment I could not stop the tears from falling. My best-loved part in this book was when Violet bonded with not one but two dragons. She turned out to be so much stronger than she thought she was. The ending left me on a cliff hanger, it makes me want to get in my car and go get the sequel, I NEED to know what happens next. I thought Yarros did an excellent job with all the characters and the story line, she sure knows what her readers want. I absolutely love, love, LOVE this book. Book Genre: Fantasy, Fantasy Fiction, Romantic Novel, Romantic Fantasy
- A Court of Mist and Fury - Sarah J. Maas
Feyre Archeron has undergone a terrifying trail Under the Mountain and freed all the people that were held captive by High Queen Amarantha. She was taken back to the Spring Court ready to be wed soon but out of nowhere Rhysand, the most powerful High Lord from the Night Court comes to claim his first 2 weeks Feyre bargained to spend with him each month. Rhysand shows her how strong she is and that she should never bow down to anyone. With the powers she inherited from all the High Lords she helps the Night Court fight the greater evil. My favorite character was Cassian, I like how he push everyone's buttons, get them all riled up. He is someone that genuinely cares about this people. This book just kept on getting better and better with each turning page. Magical and addicting. My favorite part was when Feyre realized who she was actually in love with. In reality I did not like the way Tamlin made Feyre feel and how obsessive he got when it came to her. In conclusion I rate this book 5 Stars. I wish I could read it again like it was my first time. Book Genre: Fantasy Fiction, Romantic Fantasy and High Fantasy.
- A Court of Thorns and Roses - Sarah J Maas
Feyre Archeron and her family lost their fortune a couple years ago which left her to be the one taking care of them. One cold winter day she went hunting, not knowing that by shooting a wolf would change her life completely. Everything happened fast she had to choose between death or going to the faerie Realms also known as Prythian. Sad she had to leave her family behind but soon made peace when she fell in love. She was send away for her safety only to return and fight for the one she loves, in the process she had to make a bargain with a dark misterious High Lord. What ever will happen? Will she safe the one she love or be stuck Under the Mountain forever? The story line in the first 2 chapters was a hard read for me but it soon changed to the point where it was super addicting, I could not put the book down. I was kept on my toes the whole time. My favorite characters were Lucien Vanserra and Nesta Archeron. I liked Lucien just because Feyre always felt safe with him, saw him as someone she could trust. Nesta is complicated, she is someone that pushes everyone away but when she loves she love with her whole being. She just does not like to show she cares. I did not like the way Tamlin made her feel powerless. All and all together, I recommend this book. It is very well written and it is the first book of the 5 book ACOTAR series. Never a dull moment with a Sarah J Maas book series. Book Genre : Young Adult literature, Novel, Fantasy Fiction, Romantic Fantasy, High Fantasy.
